It started a year ago. I realized I needed to change my life. It was time to start thinking about my next move and what it may be. It was time to do something for me. So I took last summer to think about it. Plan. Talk to the people I needed to talk to. I was unsure. But thankfully my close confidents were there to encourage me and tell me it would all work out.
And they were right!
With cool assignments to keep me busy and fabulous colleagues/clients to work with, my life these days is described simply as perfect. Interesting events. PR strategy work. And even writing assignments.
Here’s just a taste of what I’ve been up to, professionally speaking!
After being commissioned to contribute to the shopping and riads section for the Time Out guide on Marrakech, I immediately set out pounding the medina pavement, visiting riads, admiring the design, meeting the friendly staff, and exploring new areas of the medina.
Each one different. Each one unique. But I certainly loved the stop where I was offered a glass of wine. After all, it was nearly time to finish up for the day. Then they brought out the honeys from their local farm and some amazing Moroccan patisseries to further tempt me. Yikes! It’s a good thing there are lots of stairs in a riad! But seriously, imagine being a guest at that riad? I’d never want to leave.
And even the works in progress. Yes, I saw this and wanted to run for my life screaming. You see, I’ve worked on one of these before.
But most visits were ended with a chat while enjoying the view.
It’s a tough life, but someone has to do it.
